OLD WAVERLY SANTA BRUNCH

This Sunday we got all fancied up to go see Santa at Old Waverly. We got to see Santa here every year and always enjoy it so much. Except for that one year we were so sad to miss because we all had the stomach bug. But other than that this is our third year I think. We made our reservations so that we could sit with Jack and Missy and their kids. It was a very pretty day.

As soon as we arrived we made our way to see Santa. Walker had been so excited to see Santa and told us that he planned to sit on his lap and tell him what he would like for Christmas but just as I expected he changed his mind once we were in front of Santa of himself. Elle gladly sat in his lap and chatted with him about her wishes. Walker still refused but did agree to take a family picture with Santa. We may see Santa again this weekend at the Country Club and he is saying he will talk to Santa this time. We will see.

After we saw Santa we made our way to our table and made big plates of food. The kids actually ate a good bit which always makes us happy. The food was yummy as always. Once we finished eating we went outside so the kids could get their faces painted and do the other activities they had out there. It was a big day because Walker agreed to get his face painted for the first time ever. He usually doesn't want to. Elle, Audrey and Ella all chose to be foxes and Walker chose to be a reindeer. Walker was so sad when we had to rinse his paint off that night in the shower. It was a fun morning seeing Santa.

When we got home I was super tired so I took a nap and the kids played outside together all afternoon!
They actually posed in front of the tree for me before we left for West Point.
They will pose nice if I promise a silly picture.

Family with Santa because Walker wouldn't go on his own.
I don't know what they were talking about but I love their expressions.

QUICK CHRISTMAS THIS AND THAT

Just going to do a super duper quick post because there are just a few pictures that I want to include in here for memory's sake.

On Saturday Walker had two birthday parties for two of his buddies from preschool. He was so excited to celebrate them.  The first party was for his friend Galen and was at the gymnastics gym. I was surprised that Walker jumped right into playing with his friends when we arrived. Think he must of been missing them after being out of school for a week. They had so much fun playing and he was sweaty when we left.

After we left that party we headed over to one of Walker's good friends Zeke's house to celebrate his birthday. It was a family party mostly but he asked for Hawkins and Walker to be there so of course we had to be there! Tyson cooked hamburgers and hot dogs and the we sang and they played and at the end they all played football out in the front yard. It was so cute and Walker loved it! He was exhausted by the time it was time to go and we narrowly missed a meltdown. It was so sweet watching Tyson play ball with the little boys. He was Mississippi State's quarterback when we were in college so Walker was getting some good coaching even though he was just there for the helmet really.

Decorating the family tree was a little stressful but also fun!

Sweet boy has had a cold and we finally got on some medicine after it wasn't going away this week. He is finally feeling better I think. He was in carpool one afternoon and
awake one second and passed out the next!

Last week Starkville had their annual Christmas parade. Elle was super excited to ride on the float again. The theme for the float was Christmas story and the kids were supposed to wear what they are wearing for choir program. Elle is an angel. The night of the parade it was so incredibly cold. Freezing. The coldest I can remember a parade ever being. So I didn't take a whole lot of pictures because my phone was put up and we were all bundled up. But Elle had a great time on the float and we enjoyed watching it with Walker and friends in front of the church!
My very bundled up angel.
All the kids on our float!

THANKSGIVING

We had such a great and relaxed Thanksgiving. The kids were out of school all week. Kenny and I actually decided super last minute to run over to Tuscalooosa for the night on Tuesday just the two of us. After our crazy week the week before we just needed a quick breather and it was exactly what we needed. We did a little shopping and ate at some really fun restaurants. Even hit up a local brewery! We came back around lunch time on Wednesday. One of our favorite babysitters had kept the kids busy and they had a great time with her too. Annie got into town Wednesday night and we were so happy to see her so soon after her being in town.

Thanksgiving morning Kenny and I went and worked out (who are we??) and got back in home just in time to make a big breakfast and watch the parade. Of course we popped some champagne and had mimosas too. CeCe got in town right as the parade started too. We enjoyed watching the parade and I made my mashed potatoes and got my brussel sprout ingredients ready. Around lunch we watched Dak and the Cowboys play and win which was really fun. The kids played outside and we played card games with Elle.  We got all the food ready and we ate our big Thanksgiving meal late afternoon. Then we settled in to watch the Bulldogs play Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl. We trounced them good but luckily the kids ended up being too wiped out to watch the whole game because it they had a bench clearing brawl and I was happy that they didn't see our Bulldogs behaving that way!

Time to eat!

After dinner Elle cleared all the plates, washed them, put them all away, wiped the counters and cleaned the floors. It was just the sweetest thing. We were so proud of her.
More snuggles on the couch watching the Egg Bowl.

On Friday Kenny and I went and worked out again. But since I had all my Christmas decorations up the week before Thanksgiving mom, Annie and me took Elle and did a little shopping downtown. The we came home because we had a big big big afternoon. Kenny had been looking forward to this golf match between Tiger and Phil for months. For months! I can't even put into words how happy he was the day was finally here. He invited the Cooks and Jack and over to watch some of it with us. Jack brought Audrey and Ella over to play for little bit and then they left to go to a wedding rehearsal. Annie brought gingerbread houses for the kids and she and mom occupied the kids building and decorating those. There was a moment where it all could of gone terribly wrong. Jay and Margaret brought Bailey and she was after the tv remote so I grabbed it and when I did I excited out of the app we were watching the match on and then we couldn't get back into the app! Everyone was totally panicked. I literally broke out into a sweat and my neck got all red. After about 20 minutes we managed to get it rigged through airplay but it was a scary time for sure! Phil ended up beating Tiger in a match that went into extra holes. It was really fun to watch and Kenny was so happy that Phil won!
Working on gingerbread houses during the Tiger and Phil match!

Annie enjoyed getting to meet Bailey and Bailey kept us all busy
trying to make sure she didn't knock down the whole house.

LAST FOOTBALL GAME OF THE SEASON

Just a little behind on my blog. Like almost a whole month! The holidays amp us into major busy times and there are just so many more tasks to be handled once December hits! Christmas cards to be mailed, presents to be bought and wrapped and groceries to be bought. You know how it goes. We wrapped up football season a few weeks ago and the last weekend against Arkansas was a wild one. We had our first and only 11 AM kickoff and those are so difficult to get everyone up and ready for. We also had the Martinezes staying with us and the kids stay busy playing non stop.  And then to top it all off Kenny had a Ashley executive in town visiting for the game and we were entertaining him all weekend.

For the game we joined BJ and Mary Kenway in their club level seats. They have free food and drinks and different treats for the kids. It was a cool day but very sunshiney so we were pretty warm being out fully in the sun. The Bulldogs beat Arkansas by a lot and we left around the third quarter and went back to the tailgate where we had pizza and other low key food. After some time at the tailgate we came back to the house to watch more football. Our friend Rachael and Danny and their two sweet boys came over and we ordered sushi and the kids played and we all went to bed late. It was a fun and super busy weekend!
All the kids eating breakfast before we went to campus.
We picked up Mary Kenway at the pharmacy and BJ closed up shop and met us at the game.

Enjoying some beverages during a very warm November game.

I think we have taken a selfie every game.
Leaving the game and headed to the tailgate.

Happy at the tailgate and loving his important pass for our seats that day.
The Walters family tailgated with us after the game and
caught up with us on the way out of the game.
Dirty hot cocoa face. All smiles.

Last football game of the season with the girls.
Elle loved having Florence to visit. She loves a baby lately.
