A NOVEMBER THIS AND THAT

We have had a fun couple of weeks so time for a this and that post! Last week Elle's school had Veteran's Day program.  They sang a song with the Pre-K kids and the other Kindergarten classes.  The program was on a Thursday morning and that is the day I am home with Walker so I was not able to go but Kenny was able to go see her sing and then head out for work.
Pledge of allegiance at Veterans Day program.

Towards the end of the week, Elle started to complain of an earache.  So I knew a doctors visit was inevitable.  We went to the Nurse Practitioner first thing Saturday morning where they said she had a double ear infection and then straight to BJs to pick up her antibiotic where she was very excited to get some Dip n Dots out of the case at 8:30 in the morning.

Happy with her dip and dots!

When we got home from the pharmacy Kenny took the kids out on the course to play and then I met them for lunch up at the club where we watched some of the MSU/Alabama game.  We got killed like we expected.  Around that time Elle's friend Abigail invited her over to play and she spent the rest of the afternoon with them having the best time.  They ended up taking her to see the Trolls movie too.

While Elle was doing that I took Walker over to Foley's house for his sweet friend Grace's 2 year old birthday.  This is our little friend that is only a couple days younger than Walker.  It was a small party and Walker enjoyed all the sweets they had at the party.
Sharing a pumpkin cookie with Grace.

Pretty cake!

Cake and ice cream.
The closet picture I think I got where they are both at least looking at me.
Foley and Robby just moved into their new house a couple weeks ago.
So they are working on getting it finished.
Enjoying drink in their pretty dining room.

Later that night Foley and Robby invited us and the Cooks over to order pizza and drink wine.  We did enjoy a lot of wine and it was a really fun night.  We made sure to send our favorite driver, Pat from Napa a few pictures to say hi from all of us.

Cheers from the Napa group!

The other night a few of my friends and I got together so that we could have a drink together and sing along to Hamilton.  We have been on a group text where we pretty much talk about Hamilton only for the last month or so.  After the PBS special came on, we decided that we wanted to have a Karaoke night.  So we had some snacks and wine and pretty much sang every song from Hamilton while we held Frozen microphones! One of the most fun nights I have had in a while!
Cupcakes with the cutest toppers.
Hamilton themed snacks and three pints of Sam Adams. Theatre nerd jokes.
Had to try for a group shot/selfie.
All of us with our microphones.

WALKER TURNS TWO!

My sweet baby boy turned two on Wednesday.  I wasn't all that sad about it on his actual birthday but last night I fell down the rabbit hole of watching old videos of when he was smaller and of course Elle was smaller too and now I have a little case of the sads.  His preschool called me Monday morning to come get him from PDO because he was running a 102 fever.  I picked him up and took him to the pediatrician. The doctor said it was just viral and then gave us some advice on handling his runny nose and gunky eyes we've been struggling with lately. I was worried he would be sick on his birthday but Tuesday morning he woke up with no fever.  I kept him home with me and we didn't go to Bible Study.
We did go to the grocery and he always gets a balloon there.
So of course we had to get a birthday balloon!

The morning of his birthday he had PDO and was feeling much better so we stopped and got Shipley's donut holes so that he and his friends could celebrate his big day during morning snack. He had a good morning at school and fell right to sleep when I took him upstairs for his nap.

Sleepy boy.

After Walker woke up from his nap Kenny and him headed out to the golf course for an afternoon in their happy place.  Walker just loves going on a "ride" on the cart and loves to go run around and swing at stuff with his plastic golf club.  Then they go up to the clubhouse and sit as the bar and eat popcorn.  He is just in heaven on these afternoons and it was the perfect way to spend his birthday with Daddy.
On the cart ready for some fun.
Swinging away. He does this constantly in the back yard too.
Kenny is loving his swing and follow through.
Stopping to see the moos.
Popcorn!
A beautiful end to the day.

After Kenny and Walker came home from the course we waited on Elle to come home from gymnastics.  I cooked chicken spaghetti so we could have family dinner together before we did presents and cupcakes. Ava came over to bring Walker his birthday present.  She knew he loves Curious George and got him a Curious George Jack in the Box.
Ava helping him unwrap his gift.

Getting ready to eat family dinner.
Elle helping him unwrap the present she picked out just for him.
She was so excited to give it to him and play with it with him.
Playing with toys!

Only picture I got with me in it,

He got a big truck that makes noises and the arm moves up and
down when he pushes the button.  He loved it!
Racing with these push toys we got him.

Stripped down and ready for a birthday cupcake!

Nighty night my sweet two year old!

MSU VS. TEXAS A&M REUNION WEEKEND

This past weekend was a BIG weekend! We had a lot planned but then our beloved Bulldogs ended up showing up for the game and beat Texas A&M! They were ranked #4 so this was an unexpected win for us! We were excited because this weekend was the big reunion weekend where all of our friends from college come into town for one game and we all tailgate together! Elle was counting down the days because Francis was coming to stay!  They did not get into town until late Friday night and we were all fast asleep.  So they were up bright and early Saturday morning which was okay because it was an 11 o clock game!
Francis and Elle hanging out on the couch watching a cartoon!

We did not plan to tailgate at all really before the game.  We also did not plan to win the game.  So when we got to the tailgate Jennifer invited Elle to come sit with her and Mary Kenway in the scoreboard club so they could play and entertain each other.  We gave Elle the choice of going with them or us and she of course chose going with her friend.  So she went into the stadium.  Margaret planned to not go in so Kenny and I contemplated not going in either and just hanging out at the tailgate.  But then some of our friends came by and one of them also had an extra ticket they offer to Kenny in the scoreboard club.  So he took him up and into the stadium he went! It turned out alright because he got to sit next to Elle and Jen and BJ and the game was a lot of fun! I decided to hang out with Margaret at the tailgate and it was fun listening to the crowd and trying to figure out what was going on in the stadium! We also could see the scoreboard and the tailgate next to us had a tv for really big stuff!
Elle and Mary Kenway and also a beautiful pitcher that had a yummy punch BJ had mixed up!

Daddy found Elle!
Headed out of the game after the big win!

Once the game was over my reunion friends set their tailgate up next to us so that was lots of fun and very convenient! Late afternoon the kids started to wear out so we headed back to our house where Kenny and Patrick fried fish and Rachael brought over pizza for the kids.  We had a ton of kids and people in the house.  It was a little crazy!
Megan loving on Rachael's sweet baby!
Smithermans, Laceys and the Cooks!
All the boys of the tailgate minus Robby sporting their black for the blackout.
The group shot! Minus Tiffany's two little boys who stayed with her parents.
As we took this picture poor Francis got very sick and threw up everywhere.
Megan and Mae and Tracy.
Walker had so much fun with all the kids but was a little overwhelmed.
Mack was trying to give him a birthday present here and he wasn't sure what to think.
Breaking out the glow sticks!

The fish fry party was lots of fun and didn't even last too late into the night since kids were involved.  Sunday morning we all ordered City Bagel (the Shearing stayed with us too) and ate and let the kids play some more before it was time for everyone to head back home!
