MONSTER TRUCKS AND BIRTHDAY PARTIES

This past weekend was a great one! We had a low key Friday night and then on Saturday we all got around because we had big plans! Walker and Kenny had tickets for the Monster Truck show in Tupleo and Elle and I had a lunch date planned and the birthday party for Audrey and Ella, two of her closest friends! 

I saw an advertisement for the Monster Truck show a week or so before and sent Kenny the picture. He remembered going as a kid himself and started pulling up the different trucks and got excited about it. He showed Walker a few videos and so the morning of the show Walker was beyond excited. Seriously couldn't wait! Was talking about it nonstop. I just knew they were going to have the best time. They left early enough to swing through West Point and have lunch at Old Waverly and then kept going on to Tupelo.  

After they left Elle and I hung out at home and then ran to CVS so she could pick out each of the twins a birthday card. Then I let Elle choose wherever she wanted to eat for lunch. She chose Chick Fil. She really wanted the chicken sandwich. So we settled into a table and ate our lunch and then I let her decorate and the cards and write on the cards before we went to the Paint a Piece Pottery Place where the party was being held. Both Kenny and I enjoyed the one on one time with the kids. 

Walker and Kenny had the absolute best time at the Monster Truck show and it made me so happy to see the pictures and videos Kenny was texting me. Walker was able to pick out a big truck toy of his favorite truck- the Scooby Doo car which was driven by a girl and he even wanted to get one for Elle too! I know it was such a fun memory for the two of them to make.

Elle had a great time at the birthday party too. They all picked out different cupcake themed things to paint and then decorated their own cupcake! Later that evening one of her good friends Reese came over for a sleepover. They did not get any sleep! Sunday morning I taught Sunday school and Elle and Reese came with me while Kenny and Walker stayed home. Then I picked us up some lunch and let the girls play a little longer before Reese went home. That afternoon we watched a golf tournament that Kenny's fave Phil won and I watched the women's basketball team play in the SEC Championship.

LOW KEY FEBRUARY WEEKENDS

We have had a fairly low key few weeks.  A couple of weekends ago Kenny went to Birmingham with some guys to see Widespread Panic play and the kids and I just hung out. That Sunday I taught Sunday school and we all went to church and then to lunch with Missy and the kids because Jack was with Kenny! Kenny really enjoyed his short getaway and I had a good weekend with the kids. That Monday was President's Day and Elle was off from school so she and Kenny had a sleepover in the playroom. They ordered their favorite pizza and dessert pizza from Lost Pizza and watched Coco since it just came out on iTunes.

We have finally had some warmer temperatures and have been able to go outside some.

Last week Elle came home on Thursday afternoon with a stomach bug/fever virus. Elle and I were supposed to go to the lake on a girls trip and were so incredibly disappointed that we couldn't go but after a day of rest in the bed on Friday she seemed to be feeling better at least. So we got ready that afternoon to go watch the men play basketball at the Hump! Once we got there and got settled in our seats Elle was upset. She was crying and asking to leave. Saying her throat hurt and begging to go home! I wasn't sure what was going on but could tell Walker was super excited to be there and hated to make him go home  so Kenny and I decided that he and Walker would stay and that Elle and I would go home and come pick them up when the game was over. Once Elle and I got in the car I realized she didn't seem to be feeling well and when we got home was running a low fever again. I am so glad we left Kenny and Walker there because Walker had an absolute ball and enjoyed the one on one time with Kenny so much! The game was a close one and the Bulldogs won in overtime!

On Sunday we stayed home from church since Elle had run fever the day before. It was a quiet day at home where the kids played and I even managed to do some reading. Elle started Wonder too!

VALENTINES DAY WITH OUR LOVES

I probably said this last year too but Valentine's has risen to one of my favorite holidays. I realize it isn't a real holiday but I told Kenny the other day I have come to appreciate it because its not a stressful one. Not a lot of pressure to go over the top. It is one day and then its over. I enjoy helping the kids with their Valentine's and I also think the class parties are the most fun because you kid to get hand out the Valentine's to your friends. Plus even if it is cheesy it is fun to celebrate the ones you love!

A few weeks before Valentine's I picked up a few happies for the kids to put in their Valentine's buckets. I surprised them with them at their breakfast spots along with powdered donuts for breakfast!  Elle had gone with me to CVS one day when she was home sick from school and asked to pick Kenny and I each out a card and a treat. She held on to them and spent the morning decorating them for us and was so excited to present us with our Valentine's from her! It was so sweet! Walker was so incredibly pumped for Valentine's Day it was funny. I had put together his Valentine's a week prior and he had gotten his eyes on them and they had Paw Patrol Stickers with gummy bears and we explained to him that they were to hand out to his friends and he seriously could not wait. We probably talked about the Valentine's Day Party with his class every single day for 2-2 weeks!

I was so excited to pick Walker up and hear all about his party and also watch him go through his Valentine's bag. He couldn't help himself and started digging in the car! He probably had half his candy eaten by the time he got home. My little sweet eater! When we got home Kenny was there and we both sat down with him to go through his bag! He loved that!

Later that afternoon I went up to Elle's school so I could be with her for her class party. It was lots of fun and I enjoyed watching her attentively hand out her Valentines.

Kenny and I don't normally celebrate Valentine's much other than maybe getting some takeout but this year we made reservations for the 5 course Valentine's Day dinner at Old Waverly with the Cooks and the Walters.  It was so good and super fun to do something different and we enjoyed doing it with couples!
