THIS AND THAT

I have gotten pretty far behind in my blogging again! Whoops! I will catch back up because we have one week of school left and surely things will slow down enough for me to do the posts of all the big things. And we have had lots of big things these last few weeks. But I thought I would do a small this and that post! So here we go!

Walker has gotten very opinionated about his clothes as of late.  I try to get him what I want him to wear on his PDO mornings but on the other days I let him choose within reason. His first choice lately is a Mississippi State football jersey! He is also begun pretend playing really well with his toys and it is just a sweet content stage he is in.

First grade at the Academy has been doing a countdown to summer the last few weeks and one day they were able to wear their favorite college gear to school. When we went over the list Elle wanted to wear Blair Shaefer's jersey that day. We didn't have one so I tracked down a little girl's basketball jersey at the lodge and then I had Blair's number on it. She was so excited to wear it! She looked super cute too of course!
Ready to sport her Blair jersey!

Walker was also sporting his jersey that day and wanted in on the pictures.

Elle is just devouring books these days. Loves them!  Our little bookworm!

I posted the picture of Elle in her jersey to Instagram and tagged Blair in it and she commented on the picture! Elle was out of her mind about it. So excited and happy!

There was one really nice day where Walker begged and begged to get the water table out and put water in it and so I gave in and we literally played outside all day! It was so much fun!

Having a picnic lunch!

Softball season is almost over for Elle and we couldn't have asked for it to go better. We weren't sure if she would like it or be upset over things like striking out but she has loved it and enjoyed playing with lots of her friends. The other night she even had a crazy amazing game where she went 3 for 3. Hit a double and ran in 3 runs and scored herself. She was so pumped up she was shaking from adrenaline after it was over. We were so happy to see how much fun she was having!
Getting her official softball picture taken.
We played BJs Pharmacy one night and a lot of Elle's
friends are on that team so we got some pictures afterward.

Walker and I met Missy up at the club one day for lunch because all the guys were playing in the Kentucky Derby Golf Tournament. Walker just adores her! The feeling is mutual I think!

ELLE'S BALLET RECITAL 2018

Friday night Elle had her dance recital dress rehearsal. Mrs. Ann came in town that afternoon and was able to keep Walker thankfully because her rehearsal time didn't start until 7! Which for Elle is late to be starting an activity. She yawned on the way there. Kenny and I always enjoy being able to go to the dress rehearsal though because it is laid back and we are able to take lots of videos and pictures which means that we can just sit and watch during the actual recital and enjoy the show. This year all the classes were doing a ballet dance and a tap dance. I loved both of Elle's dances so much. After four years they did some true dance moves. Their tap dance was still probably my favorite though!

Sweet friends and tap dance partners.

Peeking in on some of the other classes doing their rehearsal.
Mrs. Evelyn, their teacher talking them through the dance before they started.
Getting ready to start their tap dance.

Saturday morning CeCe and Nannee got into town and we all just kind of hung out until it was time to get Elle ready for the recital which was at 2. Getting Elle ready for recital used to make me nervous and take a lot longer but I am a total veteran these days and it didn't take long before she was in ballerina mode. We had some extra time so we took some family pictures before we left the house. I am glad we were able to do that because Walker was able to be included and also made afterwards at the recital less stressful.

Ready for the big performance.
Waiting to go backstage.
Quick picture with my sweet girl before she went backstage.
Giving Elle her flowers after the performance.

After the recital we came home to get Walker who stayed home with a sitter because he couldn't sit through the show just yet and we all went to hibachi/watch the man cook.  We go there for dinner every year after recital. We had a good time and came home to eat dessert from Jody's Bakery that CeCe brought up from Hattiesburg.

ELLE'S LAST DAY OF BALLET AND WALKER'S LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

The school year is winding down. Our after school activities are also coming to an end. I always struggle more with the end of the year than I do for the beginning. It makes me sad to have to say goodbye to the people and things that the kids have grown to love. Last week Elle had her last ballet class for the year before the recital. We've been counting down the weeks for this actually because she is a little fatigued when it comes to the class. But she also had decided that she did not want to continue to take ballet next year after four years.  I am so sad about this but know I will get over it somewhat because it has been a struggle getting her there every week. But that's not to say that I needed to take a walk down memory lane and torture myself with then and now pictures. She was 3 years old when she started dance and such a little baby. She has grown so much and changed!
Look at those little baby legs and face compared to last week! She has gotten so tall!

Daddy hugs on her first day of ballet.
Elle and Abigail have been in the same dance class since they started
and have always been partners or stood next to each other. Sweet friends!

Walker had his last day of 2 Year Old PDO in the Lamb class last Friday. He is going for Maymester and going in the summer too but it will be different teachers. He loves loves loves his teachers Mrs. Olga and Mrs. Lisa and I just didn't even have the heart to tell him that Friday was his last day with them.  He had Monday off of this week and I am so nervous to take him back on Wednesday. He will be in the same room and most of his friends will still be there but different teachers! They had an end of the year party on the last day and we got them gift cards to the local coffee shop to enjoy a nice relaxing cup of coffee over the summer!
Posing on the preschool steps on his last day.
Picture with Olga before we go.
His sweet friend Grace posed for me too.
