KENNY'S 37TH BIRTHDAY!

So after I got home from Missy's birthday trip it was time for it to be all about Kenny's birthday! We managed to find plenty of ways to celebrate all week! Tuesday night I treated him to a date night. We went to eat mexican and have margaritas before going to see the new Halloween movie. Kenny was dying to see it. We have always watched the Halloween movies since we were dating and have seen all the new ones that have come out over the years in theaters. We really enjoyed this one. Thought it was well done and not silly.

Thursday morning we woke up before school and gave Kenny all our gifts and cards we had got for him. I gave him several things and also got him some new golf clubs that he wanted. Then I made him a tee time with some friends to play at Mossy Oak on Thursday but we had kept an eye on the weather all week and on Thursday it was going to rain all day. So we moved the tee time to Friday and Walker and I spent the day with him while Elle was at school. We went out to Old Waverly for lunch. I called ahead and made sure they knew it was his birthday and arranged for them to bring out a special dessert with a candle and they sang. Then we did a little shopping over in the pro shop before heading home for rainy day naps. Elle had a birthday party after school so we ordered Kenny's favorite wings and waited for Elle to get home. When she did she wasn't too hungry so we ended up just hanging out all together and we sang to him and blew out a candle and shared some cake. Then after we got the kids to bed he and I ate together and watched Ocean's 8 which we really enjoyed.  It was a low key birthday but we enjoyed celebrating with him.
Elle picked out this ribbon for Kenny to wear and this cute card that played music.
Early morning birthday celebration.

Trying to give Walker some hugs but he was grouchy.

We played with Lincoln Logs while we waited and ate our lunch.

Surprised by the surprise dessert!

Birthday cake to end the day!

So on Friday Kenny was able to play golf at Mossy Oak which he was really happy about because he has wanted to play the course for a while. They teed off after lunch and when they got done they met us over at the Cooks for a small birthday casual birthday gathering with friends. We had appetizers and a salad and then ordered a bunch of pizza. All the kids were there and had lots of fun playing and I had some petit fours made from a friend that makes delicious ones. It was a great night!
All the kids vegging out watching a movie at the end of the night!
Then we tried to get a picture of all of them and this is the best we got!

Bailey and Elle adore each other!

CELEBRATING 40 IN FAIRHOPE

This post is going to be about a wonderful weekend spent in Fairhope celebrating one of my best friend's 40th birthday but first wanted to include a few pictures of the kids in their new skeleton pajamas! We all love everything Halloween and Walker really loves a skeleton. So I ordered them some skeleton pajamas. They glow in the dark which they love too!
Walker was so happy to finally get them on and has worn them so many nights since they came!
Elle in her purple ones!

The Friday night I was in Fairhope Elle was a sleepover for one of her close friends, Collier. There were 7 girls and they did all sorts of fun and exciting things. Went out for dinner, put sticky notes all over Mr. BJs car while he was out of town, rolled a friends house and watched a movie on a big projector in their sleeping bags under the stars! It was a majorly big time and now Ell his asking for a sleepover for her birthday too. Although I am a little worried I am not that"fun"!

Ice cream Sundaes.

Mr. BJ was overseas on a mission trip and they got him good! They wrote lots of notes for him too.
Watching a movie on a big projector.

It was my friend Missy's 40th birthday and I planned a girls trip to Fairhope for a group of us. I picked Fairhope because I know it so well and of course know all the best places to eat! I found this completely perfect condo above an art gallery downtown where I knew we would be able to walk to lots of shops and things.

A group of us left right after carpool and got down there around 1. I took them to Sunset Pointe for lunch where we enjoyed so many yummy things and one of my favorite cocktails. Then we headed downtown to get into our condo. We got somewhat settled in and then hit up some stores! We made some quick damage before going back to relax before dinner. We waited for another friend of ours Carrie to arrive and then went to Master Joe's for dinner. We don't have a really fabulous sushi restaurant in Starkville and I think this place is so good plus once again they have a cocktail I love. Luckily everyone agree and loved the sushi and the cocktail.  After dinner we went back to the condo to drink champagne and eat cake and of course stayed up late talking!
Getting ready to eat some delicious sushi!

Blowing out her candles!

This creepy guy scared us all weekend because he was in the half bath right off the kitchen.

The next morning I took everyone to my favorite Fairhope breakfast spot, The Warehouse. Everyone loved it and then we did some more shopping and waited on more friends to arrive in town for Saturday!
Headed out to breakfast!

When Meredith and Emily arrived we walked across the street to a wine bar and did a wine tasting. Then we went back to condo for snacks, some football and primping before dinner! We had dinner reservations at The Wash House. It was such a fun night full of good food and hilarious conversation. We ordered dessert and sang and let Missy blow out more candles!

The weather temps dropped that night and we were so happy to hang out on
the rooftop patio in our pajamas and be cold!

Sunday morning we packed up and drove over to The Grande so we could have their amazing breakfast buffet for breakfast. It was the best buffet I have ever seen. So many delicious options. Definitely not your run of the mill buffet. After that Meredith and Emily headed home and the rest of us checked into the spa. We enjoyed the steam room, hot tub, and sauna before getting a divine massage. It was the perfect way to relax before heading home.
Cocktails and spa robes.

It truly was such a fun and relaxing trip. We laughed and laughed and I was so happy celebrate Missy and her big birthday!

SCHOOL OF ROCK

We bought season tickets to the Orpheum this year and I am so excited and happy about it! Elle seems to really enjoy musicals too and I couldn't be more thrilled about that because musicals were and still are everything to me! The first play of the season we ended up not going so this was our first play of the season. This year's Orpheum line up is really great and we are looking forward to taking Elle to several plays. We did not get a ticket for Walker because he is still too little but hopefully soon enough he will be able to come too!

The play this weekend was School of Rock. I have not seen it before but am familiar with the movie and have also seen some performances on the Tony's and things like that. I knew that the play had a large cast of kids and figured Elle would really enjoy it. I was right! We both loved it and have been listening and singing the music all week! We were so sad Kenny missed it because he was at market. He would of really loved all the rock jokes and guitar riffs!

Before the play we went to our favorite pre-theatre spot Aldos for pizza. I had a cocktail and Elle played with dough. We shared an appetizer and a vodka pizza that was so good. After our lunch we headed over to the Orpheum for the play! The kids and other cast members were so talented and we couldn't believe the kids played their own instruments. It was such a special afternoon spent with my Elle! Hopefully we will have a chance for Kenny and Walker to see it eventually!
Selfie with my sweet girl at Aldo's.
Playing with the dough! This is the reason Elle loves this restaurant so much!

We were sending Daddy silly pictures at market.
We take a picture in front of the play poster every time! Its tradition!
Waiting for the play to start!

After the play we went back to Nanees where we painted pumpkins and then we went to a really yummy dinner together Hog and Hominy. Annie's roommate and good friend Caroline came along and the kids were happy about that because they love her!
Painting pumpkins!

Hog and Hominy!

Monday morning we were up pretty early so decided to go on back home! But first we stopped at Gibson's Donuts for breakfast!

WE'RE GOING TO THE ZOO

On Saturday the weather was supposed to be cool and nice so we planned to take the kids to the zoo. It ended up being a little overcast but the rain that came later that afternoon held off the entire time. It had been a while since we visited the zoo. We couldn't remember if Walker had been since he was a baby. We knew he would love it!

The zoo was decorated for Halloween which we all loved. I love Halloween so much and Walker and Elle really enjoy it. So we enjoyed the spooky factor too along with all the animals.  We covered the whole zoo and rode the train through the farm section. We saw the new hippo exhibit. We ate some lunch outside while the kids played on the playground and we hit up the gift shop on our way out. It was a really great day and we were all worn out when we left.

That evening CeCe and Nannee had School of Rock tickets so they went and did that and I took the kids over to Mollie's to hang out. Elle was beside herself to see Lizzie! Mollie made chili and we watched football. We stayed for a long time and Elle ended up spending the night which she was so happy about. She loves a sleepover! It was a really fun day all around!
Watching the tigers move around!

Getting ready to ride the train through the farm section. He was so excited to ride the train!

The kids were amazed at all the huge snakes!
Saw the pandas!
Saw the giraffes!
Saw the hippos!
Walker really wanted an icee with his lunch. He loves some sugar!
Saw the polar bears!

Watched the sea lion show and loved it!

Touched some zombies that were pretty creepy. When you touched them they wobbled.

Walker picked out this light saber from the gift shop!
Elle picked this panda on a leash.
