BACK TO SCHOOL 2018

We are into the second week of school for both of the kids now! The week or so before school starts is always full of anticipation as we find out what teacher we will have and what friends will be in the same class. Then we have meet the teacher and classroom visits and back to school class parties. Busy busy! So I thought I would just post a bunch of pictures from those couple of weeks!

Letters were super late this year from Elle's school but we finally received them in the mail while we were at the pool swimming. So I ran the cart back to the house to pick up Elle's letter and also her good friend Audrey Caroline's letter and brought them back to the pool so they could open them together. I already knew they would be in the same class but they did not know anything They were both thrilled to open their letters and find they were together and they got the teacher they wanted!
Ripping open the letters! So excited to find out!

Elle had already read hers and then read over Audrey Caroline's shoulder
so she knew they were together She patiently waited for AC to finish her letter.

I mentioned that Walker and I had his room visit before we left for Birmingham the Friday before. He loved seeing his room and meeting his teacher. He is so excited to have moved downstairs at the preschool. They have a class fish and eat their lunch in the "lunchbox room" as he calls it. Thinks he is so big!
Meeting his teacher Mrs. Adrienne.
Anniston was having her visit at the same time as we were! So they checked out the room together.

Missy took her girls and Elle to the 2nd and 3rd grade class party.

Walker had his first day last Monday in the Bear class. He was so excited to start!

Elle didn't start until Wednesday so she joined Walker for his pictures.
Walking in to his new class.
We went that afternoon for back to school haircuts.

The next morning we went with Elle to her room visit and teacher meet and greet. Elle was so excited to see her new room and talk to her teacher!

She was a little nervous but very excited for the start of school. She had a great few first days. This week has been a little touch and go in the mornings but we will find our groove soon!

QUICK TRIP BEFORE SCHOOL

The kids started school this week. Post to come soon on all that craziness but last weekend before it all kicked up we drove over to Birmingham for a one night stay at Ross Bridge. Kenny had plans to drive on from Birmingham to meet up with some friends for a concert in Atlanta so he and Elle left in his car before Walker and me. I took Walker to his room visit and to meet his teacher and then we got on the road too. We weren't too far behind Kenny and Elle. When we got there Kenny and Elle were already in the pool. Elle loves the Ross Bridge pool and the slide. Walker and I got to the room and waved at them from the balcony and changed into our swimsuits and made our way to the pool too. We ate some lunch of hamburgers and chips just while we swam and played and then I sent Kenny off for a massage at the spa.  He needed and deserved one after a long Vegas Market.

After a long day of swimming we went up to the room for a few minutes and then went and had some dinner on the patio overlooking the pool. It was all really good and the kids were relaxed. They colored and played. After we were done the resort was offering smores around their fire pits. They had different kind of candy bars which was different. Both of the kids really enjoyed them! After dinner we went back to the pool. They had a big blow up screen and were playing Moana. We watched that and Walker played in the splash pad part of the pool and Elle continued to go down the slide over and over. We finally came back to the room around 10! It was a long and really fun day! The next morning we woke up and had a big breakfast downstairs. They have a huuuuuge breakfast buffet that is really good. After that Kenny made his way over to Atlanta and to meet up with Jay and Jack and me and the kids came home. It was a wonderful getaway before the hustle and bustle of school!
