WALKER'S FIRST TIME TO BINGO

Every week Starkville Country Club has bingo night. Elle has been going for as long as we've lived here because first child. When you only have one child both parents can be attentive while a 3 year old plays bingo. But when there is more than one it gets a little harder. Plus just knowing Walker we weren't sure of how well he would do with bingo. There are rules to be followed and its at night at the end of a long day. So for these reasons we have never really taken him. And if we have he has ended up swimming while Elle plays bingo. So I usually stay home with him and Kenny and Elle go up to the club and meet with friends and its their thing.

This past week I had a birthday dinner for a friend so Kenny decided to take Walker.  Since Elle had Camp in the City all day Kenny took Walker up to the pool mid afternoon to swim. I picked Elle up at camp and then dropped her off at the pool to swim too and then they all went to dinner and bingo. Because Walker swam all afternoon he was pretty tired and probably more mellow than he normally would of been. This helped to make Walker's first bingo night a success. Now he for sure didn't really understand the concept but Kenny helped him and he had a good time! I don't know that we will take him every week but we will eventually get back to Bingo night as a family I think! Elle had lots of fun that night playing too!

Red and tired eyes from the pool but with her first bingo card! Good luck to ya!
At first he didn't want to take pictures for Kenny.

But Kenny told him to smile for Mommy so he did.
Silly picture because he always has to do these now.
Ice cream break!
Excited because she was getting close to the end in stand up bingo!

Cheering every time they didn't call her number!

CAMP IN THE CITY 2018

Elle had such a great week last week at Camp in the City. This is her second year to go to camp and she loved it even more this year. The camp is held at First Baptist and the group from Pine Cove moves from city to city and puts on the camp each week. They are there all day and come home late afternoon absolutely exhausted.  At the end of the week they have a closing program where the parents come and see them dance and sing to some of their praise songs they have sung all week and then they show a video with pictures from the days at camp. Kenny and I remarked at how many fun things they did. So many that Elle hasn't even told us most of it because they are so busy!

Her counselor's name this year was Gumpy and was super sweet. She had lots of friends in her "cabin" like Audrey and Ella and Cathryn and the weather was great all week. It only rained one morning I think and it didn't affect any of their activities. We have been singing the fun songs at home and Elle has been teaching us lots of other hand games and things she learned over the week! We are so happy to have had the chance to go again this year. Walker was with us some for her drop offs and they cheer and yell as you drive in. He already can't wait to go either!

All decked out in her camp swag!

I love this picture of Elle because if you zoom in her face is so happy!

Elle and Audrey!
They did skits every day and Elle said they centered around guys wrestling.
Elle is in the right corner of this picture.
They all do a painting together every year and when the week is
over she cut it up and wrote their character words on it for them.

Gumpy reading Elle's character words to her. I always love this part. Makes me want to cry.

Final group picture,
Elle about to leave but with Willy the Whale. Willy the Whale is awarded each day to the caring that has good behavior, listens and keeps their tent clean. Their cabin won it twice which is a big big deal! She was so excited!

FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND

Vacation Bible School was over on Thursday so on Friday morning Elle and I hopped in the car to drive to Hattiesburg. CeCe fell and hurt her back a couple weeks ago so we went down to check on her and spend the night. She is in a lot of pain but she was a trooper and went to Ed's with us for a burger and spent time with Elle while she rested on the couch and I ran to Target! It was a low key visit, There isn't a whole lot to do for poor CeCe. She just needs to rest.

Walker and Kenny had guy time while we were gone! Friday morning Kenny joined Walker at PDO for Donuts for Dad to celebrate Father's Day. He made Kenny a card and a neck tie to wear and the enjoyed donuts together before Kenny left so Walker could have his day at school. After school he picked Walker up and the spent the afternoon at the pool. Saturday morning Elle and I woke up and hung around with CeCe for a little bit and then I took Elle out for breakfast before we got on the road. She wanted pancakes so I took her to IHOP. She had not been before and chose the cupcake pancakes that had lots of sprinkles in them! Walker and Kenny went to the club for breakfast and then swam until the afternoon when we got home!

Ready to hit up the pool!
After the pool. Someone was tired!

Headed for breakfast and the pool in their matching t-shirts Saturday morning.
Doing some reading while we waited on our breakfast.
Happy with her cupcake pancakes.

Loved having some one on one time with my girl.

Saturday evening we went over to Robby and Foley's house with the kids to play, eat dinner and watch the Mississippi State ball game. I haven't really said anything in the blog but the Bulldog Baseball team has made it to the College World Series against all the odds! I am writing this on a Thursday and we have one two games and have to win one more and we go to the championship! We are so happy for the team and having lots of fun watching and cheering along! Walker has worn the shirt he has on in the picture below for both wins so now he has to wear it for every game!

Sunday morning was Father's Day and we were so excited to celebrate Kenny. I woke up and made a big breakfast and then everyone slept in which is so unusual around our house. I intentionally let Kenny sleep in but Elle slept almost to 9 which is just unheard of and Walker slept really late. So I gave Kenny his breakfast in bed with a big mimosa and cup of coffee. Walker ate with me in the kitchen while Elle slept and then he joined them for a cup of milk. Elle eventually woke up and ate herself and we let Kenny open his cards and gifts from all of us.  We got him some golf shoes he had mentioned wanting, a massage and then I surprised him with a gift that I had been holding on to since April. I bid on and won a Dak Prescott signed Mississippi State helmet back during Super Bulldog Weekend and hid it away to surprise him. He knew I bid on it but thought I didn't win. So it was a big surprise and he loved it! It now sits on a shelf in his office and looks so pretty!

After breakfast and gifts we all went to church where I taught Sunday School. We didn't do a lesson this week and just worked on doing a Father's Day craft. After Sunday School Elle rang the church bell with Kenny and Audrey and Ella and Jack in honor of Father's Day and we went to service where Elle sang a song from VBS with all the other kids that were there. After church we went to the Country Club for lunch and Kenny was pumped because they had these enormous turkey legs. Kenny loves a smoked turkey leg. Me, not so much! But Kenny yes! So he had one there but he joked that he couldn't really eat it the way he wanted to which was to pick it up and eat it so I snuck him one home for his Father's Day dinner. He ate it up that night along with a good IPA.  Happy Father's Day to Kenny!
Breakfast for Kenny!
