SUPER BULLDOG WEEKEND 2018

This past weekend was Super Bulldog Weekend! It has been an usually chilly Spring but we lucked out and got gorgeous weather for Saturday! Saturday morning I woke up early and headed down to the Cotton District to do my Junior Auxiliary shift and set up for the Kid's Village at Cotton District Arts Festival. It is always such a fun area and I like to do set up so I can get back to my house to get Elle and Walker so they can go themselves. My shift was pretty cold so I packed us some layers when we went back out.

After my shift I came home and we all got ready and went right back! Our plan was to take the day as it came. We would hit up the Kid's Art Village and let them create art for as long as they were into it. Then we had loose plans to meet up with Missy and Jack and family at Bulldog Burger for lunch and then the Spring Football preview game was at 3 that afternoon! And that is exactly what we did. It was a really great day and we were all worn out by the end of it!
Starkville just painted this mural in a new area of businesses and we parked
behind it and stumbled upon it. Of course we had to get a picture!

Under the fun ball arch at CDAF Kid's Village!
Making maracas!

Always run into lots of friends at CDAF!
Making necklaces with pasta and beads.

Elle always enjoys playing the drums with the drum man!
Getting flower crowns and bandanas.

Walker was loving all his get up from the village.

Ran into Mary Kenway walking to the Spring Game!

Dak was in town and Starkville was happy to see him!

Elle brought a book in case of boredom. She put it to use.
I love this picture of Walker so much!

We so wanted to get Walker to a Bulldog baseball game because he is so baseball obsessed right now but we planned to go the Sunday game and it rained all day Sunday so they moved the game to Saturday and made the games a double header and it was just too much to try and fit in with the kids still being small! We are going to have get there pronto!

GRANDPARENTS DAY 2018

Friday afternoon was Starkville Academy's annual Grandparent's Day Program. Elle was so lucky to have CeCe and Gramma and PopPop in town this year. The last two years just one side was able to come. So we had a full house and a full day of celebrating.  Elle and her class have been practicing their song for weeks and were so excited. They were singing The Monkee theme song and had a cute little dance to go with it. It is always such a well put together program and a day we look forward to every year. After the program we go and visit Elle's classroom for a few minutes and she had made cards for all the grandparents she was happy to give them.  This was the first year that Walker was able to come. He had learned the whole Monkee song himself just from hearing Elle sing it so much at home. He got a little restless but did really well for the most part because we had to get there so early and wait for it to start! So all in all the program was a success!
Walker and I had a lunch date with a friend on Thursday and we had a sweet little afternoon of playing outside afterwards. I love the quiet days at home with one on one time with him.
He is still obsessed with all his baseball gear!
PopPop, Gramma and CeCe waiting on the program to start.
The program had a jungle theme this year and this was the cute
jungle book backdrop before all the kids started coming in.

Our little monkeys.

Elle giving Cece and Gramma their cards she made for them.

Classroom visit.

Elle showing her note for the grandparents on the board. It said
that "Gramma gives me chocolate for breakfast and CeCe takes me to the library."
Picture all together as we were leaving.

Elle was super excited to cut out of school early that afternoon. It was beautiful day so she took the opportunity to show Gramma and PopPop her driving skills on the golf cart!

MASTERS TRIP 2018

Last week Kenny and I were able to get away for a couple days so we could go to the Masters Practice Round on Tuesday. This is the second year in a row we have gone and we were in desperate need of even a very short getaway! My mom came in to town Sunday afternoon to keep the kids and we hit the road early Monday morning. We were excited to get to our hotel because it was one that we have wanted to stay at for a while. It is called Patridge Inn and it is a quaint little hotel with lots of history with great service and a yummy restaurant with a gorgeous patio that we had drinks and a charcuterie plate almost immediately after arriving! It was exactly what we needed oh my goodness. Then we came back a little later and had a few small plates and a couple more drinks before going to bed early in preparation for Tuesday.  Kenny was dead set on us getting super early because he already knew that Phil, Tiger and Fred Couples were all going out together and they always tee off super early!

That night I wasn't sleeping well at all so I googled the hotel to read up on the history of it and all the links that came up on it were about how the hotel is haunted! Haunted by  ghost named Emily who a long time ago was set to get married at the hotel and her fiancĂ© was shot on his horse on the way over to the hotel and died. She was so grief stricken she wore her wedding dress for months and now haunts the hotel. I was so excited to hear the hotel was haunted and kept my eyes peeled for her but never saw anything. Apparently she likes the fifth floor and we were on the fourth. Maybe I will see her next time!

Look at the relaxation on that face! Aaaaah!

So Tuesday morning we were up bright and early and were in the gates of Augusta National before they would even let us on the course. It was a little chilly that morning but we knew it from the forecast it was going to be a nice day and was going to warm up! When we got into the course we plopped our chairs down on of the greens, went to the pro shop where we didn't even really buy all that much and then headed off to find Phil and Tiger.
Picture in the car before we went in since no phones allowed!
Pictures in front of the obligatory landmarks!

The highlight of the day as far as that grouping went was when we managed to score some front row seats in the grandstand and watch them all come tee off on 16 and then all four walk over to the water and skip their balls at once. It was exciting and fun!

All hitting their balls to skip on the water at once!

After that we moved over to sit in our chairs for a while and enjoy the pretty day and watch lots of groups come practice on the green.
Pretty sure the blue shirt is Jordan Spieth.

Made our way over to Amen Corner at some point.

While we were gone CeCe kept the kids busy by planting all our spring flowers. This is an annual April tradition and they always look forward to it and I always appreciate the flowers and not having to do the gardening myself! Thanks CeCe!  When we got home the kids were so excited to show us all their hard work!

Getting ready to plant all the flowers. Elle's faceprint was
still hanging on from Easter Sunday the day before.

We came home that Wednesday and then we had a low key weekend of watching the Masters. Nanee came into town to see the kids and the kids were excited to wear all the gear we had bought them from the tournament on our trip! Patrick Reed won the Masters this year and I am not a fan of his at all. Ricky Fowler came in second and we were happy about that but also sad he didn't win!
Elle and Nannee headed out for lunch!
