PRE THANKSGIVING WEEK

Both of the kids were out the entire week of Thanksgiving so we made sure to stay as busy as we could and the week went by quickly and we had lots of fun! On Monday we went to Kroger where I appointed Elle and Clifford as my shopping helper.  She had her own buggy which she loves and we managed to get out of the store without any major meltdowns!  After the grocery store we went by our friends pharmacy to get some medicine for Kenny and Elle's friend Mary Kenway was there hanging out since she was also out of school.  So we invited her over to play and they had lots of fun!

One day we decided to go to the library to check out some books and they happened to be having story time. So we listened to the children's librarian read some books.  She is very animated. Afterwards they were able to color and then we picked out some books.

Whenever we go to the library we have to leave out the front door and then walk around the whole building to get back to the car. Every time.  On this day Walker refused to
hold my hand and would only hold Elle's.
Sweet brother and sister.

Earlier that week I got a phone call from Susan, one of my best friends from college.  Her family has a farm in Scobey, MS which is only an hour or so from Starkville and she and her family wanted to come to Starkville and have a super quick visit with us and maybe see State's campus.  So I decided we should meet on campus for a picnic and let the kids run around.  I knew this was the best option that would let us actually visit over us trying to go out to eat at a restaurant.  Because her kids are little too.  The weather was beautiful that day and the visit ended up being so much fun.  I loved seeing her kids.  I had met John when he was much smaller and same for Susan and Elle.  This as our first time to see each other's babies.  The kids enjoyed running around campus, playing in the leaves and climbing trees and then we went and got ice cream at the State Fountain in the Union before they hit the road to head back to New Orleans. It was such a fun day and I was so happy to see them!
Waiting on our friends to get here so we could eat!

Walker was working off no nap so he was little delirious.
Headed back to the car but still exploring campus.

High fives and hugs before everyone left.

The day before Thanksgiving we hung out at home and I cooked for the feast.  It was a low key day at home. We took Elle to see the Troll movie which was so cute.  Gramma and Pop Pop and Nonnee got in that night and we ordered chinese food before getting into bed at a decent time so we could be ready to go for Thanksgiving Day!

MSU VS ARKANSAS WEEKEND

Holidays have gotten me a little behind but here we go again on the catch up wagon! A couple of Fridays ago, Elle was so incredibly excited because it was her turn to take her class pet home for the weekend.  She was extra pumped because her weekend fell on Thanksgiving so we were getting to keep him with us for an entire week.  This is major in Kindergarten world! The class pet is a Clifford dog.  He comes with his own backpack with a couple of outfit changes, some books and a journal that you document your time with him before he goes back to school.
Getting in the car after school.  Look how happy and excited she was.

Reading Clifford's books to him.

Friday evening Megan and the boys got into town for our football game on Saturday against Arkansas.  Elle was excited to have her friends here to play with and to go to the tailgate with us.  They were also happy to be introduced to Clifford.
Enjoying some breakfast with Clifford.

The game was a night game so we headed out to the tailgate early afternoon.  It was our first game where it was really chilly. But the sun was out and Elle's friends Mary Kenway and Ann Carlton were all at the tailgate too.  We hit up the bouncey houses and played before going in the game to freeze! The Bulldogs didn't show up to play and we lost.  We left in the third quarter so we could get Elle to bed and warm up!

Danny B stayed with us that weekend too. He and Kenny were
feeling okay due to a drink keeping them warm.
Clifford was popular.
Mrs. Margaret carried a very tired Elle out of the game.

Sunday afternoon we had a birthday party for Elle's friend and our neighbor James. We got a gift card for him but Elle and Clifford made a card to put it in. The party was at ACPA and Elle had lots of fun!

THANKSGIVING 2016

It was finally Thanksgiving! Hooray! We got up and got dressed and I made some breakfast just in time for us to watch the parade! The parade is one of my favorite things about Thanksgiving.  I tried to get Elle amped up to watch it.  And she was into it for about 20 minutes and then she and Walker went upstairs to play with Gramma and PopPop in the playroom.  My mom got here shortly after the parade started so we all watched it together while the kids had fun playing.
Elle snuggling with Nonnee and watching the parade for a few minutes.
Of course Clifford was there!
Walker was hanging with me while we watched!
Into a parade balloon for a moment.

After the parade the kids and Kenny's parents came downstairs and we all hung out and watched Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors while PopPop put together a toy for Walker from last Christmas. It took a little while but the kids love the toy so it was worth it!
Group effort putting all the pieces together.
We attempted to get a few family pictures.  Walker had just woken up from nap.
For once I was pumped for some Thanksgiving day football! Because the Cowboys were playing and we were going to cheer on our beloved Dak! Kenny had just ordered the family some Dak gear and Elle was pumped to wear her new jersey.  So she had on Dak's Cowboys jersey and Clifford wore Dak's State jersey.  The game was great and the Cowboys are 10-1! Woohoo!
Nonee, Clifford and Elle all ready for the Cowboys game!
Into the game!

Later that evening it was finally time to feast! Dinner was great as always and we made a big to do of having Clifford with us and gave him his own plate.  We all went around and said what we were thankful for and the answer from everyone was having the family together.

Mom getting the turkey together and Lena was hopeful.
Waiting on the food to be ready!
Clifford couldn't wait to dig in!

Walker enjoyed a Thanksgiving cookie from Jody's for dessert and the grown ups had pie.
Tired from the feast and almost time for bed!
