FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND

Kenny and I had a great weekend.  I wanted to be sure that Kenny did things he wanted to do and honor him all weekend for Father's Day.  However, I did start the weekend by going out with Susan. (J Press Designs) We met up for drinks and dinner which were fabulous before going to see Snow White and the Huntsman.  I liked the movie but Kristen Stuart really irks me.  After the movie we went for another drink before heading home.  It was fun night that I needed after the week I had and we needed to catch up.

Elle's spider bite looked a lot worse Saturday morning but by the end of the day had gone down and we were relieved.  The doctor had told us that if it didn't get any better by the end of Saturday we needed to come back Monday.

Saturday morning we hit up Shelby Farms for some exercising.  It was hot! Then it on to the grocery store and the butcher shop so we could grill out that night.  Kenny went to play golf with a friend.  The course ended up being pretty crowded so he got home kind of late so we quickly fired up the grill.  Going to be honest, pretty soon after we ate, I was asleep.

On Sunday, Elle and I were so excited to celebrate Kenny on Father's Day.  He is such a fantastic father to Elle.  After happys and cards in bed we hit up brunch at one of favorite spots.

Elle not wanting to stop eating her pancake long enough to take a picture.
 Oh alright.

I snapped this picture on the way out from brunch. It made me smile.  He wore pink in honor of Elle and the sippy cup in the back pocket was so cute.

Sunday afternoon, my sister was so kind to babysit while Kenny and I went to see a movie.  Of course I let him choose, so we saw Men In Black 3.  It was okay.  Kenny liked it. Then it was home just in time to catch Tiger teeing off. We watched golf the entire weekend.  Fathers got to control the remote. Ha!

It was a great weekend. One where I hope Kenny realizes how much we love and care for him and how lucky we are to have him.

WHAT A WEEK (FOTO FRIDAY)

YALL! WHAT A WEEK!!

I won't go into every crazy detail but it has been a crazy week.  Between getting back from vacation and being totally out of whack, VBS, separation anxiety, teething and a temper tantrum phase we are going through, I am looking forward to a night out with a friend for dinner and a movie tonight.

Then after all that we wake up to find Elle's little face all swollen.  I thought a mosquito bit her on the face yesterday on our walk but after seeing how it looked when she woke up this morning, we decided to take her to the doctor.  I was afraid it was a spider bite.  It was and it is infected.  Poor thing.  So we are now on heavy antibiotics and ointment.  I am just so glad I trusted my instints and decided to take her in.
This is how it looked when she woke up.
This is her after I got home from VBS.  Sooooo much worse.  Gah.  I feel terrible.

And here is a pretty unexciting photo dump. But I wanted to include the pictures for memory sake.
Elle and I went out for a little Christian chicken (Chick Fila) after VBS.  Seemed appropriate.
Then her day was made when this little old man gave Elle a balloon.  She loves her a balloon.
Elle wanted to take her baby along for a quick errand.  I am loving her being into her baby doll.
Elle was not having the nursery so I kept her with me at my station
and all the little girls were loving her.
After these pictures I decided it is time to get Elle some pretend food to put in her shopping cart.
I loved playing with pretend food and the kitchen when I was little.

This was the last day that I brought Elle to VBS and the kids practically swarmed her.
She was loving it.  I was a bit nervous.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

- I am so excited to have found a drink that I like at Starbucks.  I do enjoy their hot chocolates and sometimes their yummy coffees but I don't drink caffeine and some of it can be very high calorie.  While at the beach I discovered that I really like Iced Nonfat Chai Tea Lattes.  Yum! I think the tea might have a little bit of caffeine in it...not sure but it doesn't make me feel wired or hurt my stomach.

- While we really did have the BEST vacation last week.  Going to the beach with a late walking ( as in not walking just yet) toddler was H-A-R-D.  She just wants to be able to crawl everywhere and when we have to stop her she throws the biggest tantrums.  One morning Elle threw an EPIC fit after only being down on the beach a half hour.  Kenny and I had to bring her back to the condo where she literally laid on the floor  and screamed for another half hour.  Going to be an honest mommy and tell you I might have locked myself in the bathroom and shed some tears out of frustration.

- I am still loving Viggle! I have close to 80,000 points.  I can't decide if I want to try and save up for something big or get a bunch of gift cards. If you are using the app what have you been doing with your points?

- Elle is in a little bit of a phase right now.  EXTREME separation anxiety and kind of fussy.  I think she might be cutting her molars and that could be part of the problem but the separation anxiety has me totally freaked that she won't be able to go to PDO next week since the Bible School nursery was a total bust this week.

- I gained some weight while on vacation.  When I first weighed myself when I came back it was dismal.  But I think some of it was a little bloat.  After a couple days I think I gained 4lbs.  Which still really stinks.  But like Kenny pointed out, its better than adding the 4lbs onto our original weight.  We are now back on the wagon and carbs and sugar have been banned again.  We go to Las Vegas in a little over a month.  I want to feel great going into that trip too.

THE LACEY FAMILY VACATION

We arrived home last night from a week long vacation at the beach (Seagrove, FL) with LOTS to unpack, decent suntans and a relaxed mind frame.  We had a really great time and I was thrilled that Elle seemed to love the beach.

We ate yummy dinners in some nights and dined at delicious restaurants other nights.  We walked every morning, usually to Seaside to get coffee and a couple of times for breafkast and mimosas.  We stopped for ice cream at night and watched movies and built sand castles and jumped over waves (Elle's fave) and read books.  All in all it was a pretty perfect vacation and one we plan to repeat every year.

Picture overload next!
Nannee and Elle at the Red Bar the first night we were in town.  I was not missing those crab cakes.

First day on the beach.  Was so relieved that she didn't seem to mind the sand.  The waves were her favorite though.  Kenny would take her out in the water to jump over waves and she would squeal and point at them as they were coming.  Definitely a beach baby.  She was not having the pool the one day we tried to do that.
Enjoying a little lunch and relaxation in a beach chair.
Family photo. One of my favorite pictures from the week.

Out to eat at Great Southern.  We ended up eating there a few times between breakfast and dinners.
Family photo on another night out.
Mom and daughters.
Elle started giving big "muah" kisses while we were there. Daddy can't get enough of them.
Went out on the last day to say goodbye to the beach and got stuck in the rain.  Had to dry off.
The last full day it was cloudy but we still had fun reading and playing in the sand.
Daddy and daughter.
This is what she wanted to do most of the time.  Crawl around in circles on the shore.  Then she would throw a fit when we had to stop her from heading straight into the ocean.  Next year will be easier when she is walking.

It rained once afternoon and this was the gorgeous rainbow from our balcony.  You can kind of see a second one too.
And this is what my house looks like now.  That was just one room.  Honestly, the whole house might of looked like that we because we SERIOUSLY overpacked.  It was ridiculous.  I have managed to unpack everything but my pile which is still sitting in the front room.  Hopefully it will be gone by the end of the day.
