SPRING BREAK PART 1

Little behind in my posting! We had Spring Break last week and then it took us a little bit to get back into the swing of school which wasn't the easiest! When we started talking about what we wanted to do for Spring Break this year we thought we would stay away from the beach because we have gone the last two years and it is always so cold you can't really enjoy it. We talked about doing New Orleans and a couple of other things but then Margaret and Jay invited us to come stay with them for a few days at their condo in Rosemary which we always love. They were bringing Bailey too. This would be the first time the kids had actually stayed in Rosemary. We always stay in Seaside/Seagrove. We had a great time but it was cold. Very cold.  When will we learn? We did manage to make it out to the beach for a little bit each day but the rest of the time we spent eating good food, riding the scooters that we brought from home and swimming in the indoor food.

I've got a couple more posts on our trip but I tried to get all the pictures in the right order. I may have a few out of place! We picked Elle up from school on Wednesday and hit the road. Its about a 6 hour drive without stops so we knew we would be getting in late. But the kids did okay. We put them straight to bed and Jay and Margaret got in around 11 or 12 that night.  The next morning we lounged around and then got out and walked to eat breakfast. The kids were excited to ride their scooters. It was chilly but still sunny and pretty.
Headed out for breakfast.
All ready for the first swim of the year in the indoor pool!
Enjoying a little packed lunch.

Kenny told the kids that chips were good in a sandwich. Here is Walker's version.
Headed back. A little chilly.

We got all cleaned up that night and went to dinner at our favorite Rosemary restaurant, George's. The kids were tired and a little wild but we made it through and still enjoyed ourselves and some of our favorite food. After dinner we went over to the Sugar Shak for dessert. Elle asked for ice cream. They have ice cream but they also have every kind of candy imaginable! The kids, especially Walker were in absolute heaven. He couldn't choose because there was so much! Jay and Margaret thought it was the cutest thing so they treated them to a few things!
Taming this wild crew at George's.
Holding sweet Bailey who was wearing one of Elle's outfits.

Ready to go do some damage at the Sugar Shak.
This picture is blurry but look at that smile.
The next morning we went to breakfast at another one of our favorite 30A restaurants
and I had the best breakfast of my entire life. I am still thinking about it!

Waiting on our breakfast!
This boy always chooses pancakes!

After breakfast we made our way down to the beach for a little bit. It was very windy so we didn't stay long because it was so cold. It was still a beautiful day and when we came back up to the courtyard by the beach access there was a group there doing the most fun little activity! They had all these amazing things to decorate these fedora hats with. So we let the kids choose a hat and then they went down the line with a basket and were able to choose whatever they wanted to go on their hat. Then there was someone at another table who helped us hot glue it all on wherever they wanted it to be placed. They had so much fun doing this and we enjoyed seeing their personalities shine through with what they chose. They were so proud of their hats. Then there was another tent where they could get an airbrushed tattoo.  Elle chose a cupcake and Walker chose a dragon. I don't normally love tattoos on kids but we were on vacation! They lasted forever and the kids enjoyed them so much! This little stop was probably the highlight of the trip honestly. The kids just loved it!
Checking out the beach despite the windy cold weather.

That night we lined up a sitter and went to a new restaurant called Pescado just the grown ups. It was nice to have a date night on our family vacation. The food was great too!
