OUR TRIP TO THE PUMPKIN PATCH

So with October comes the pumpkin patch! When we moved to Starkville we were so lucky to have a wonderful place to go called Country Pumpkins. We have never missed a year although up until this year we have gone on a weekday. Before Elle was in school we always went on a weekday morning and I think last year we may of checked her out of school a little early to go. So we are used to having the place to ourselves for the most part.  We for sure have never been on a Saturday on a off weekend and Fall Break! Elle made me laugh because she was so excited to do the fun slides but when we got there she said, "I don't want to go on the slide because there are people on it." She quickly got over it but it was somewhat crowded when we got there and very crowded when we left but we still had the best time. We stayed a long time and were all hot and dirty by the time we left!

We started off the morning with donuts from Shipley's. And it is about a 30 minute drive to the pumpkin patch so Elle asked if we could get a Redbox for the ride and we said why not!
Walker was super happy with his donut holes and Elle was too!

Elle and Daddy picking out some movies for our very short drive.

When we got there we did the slides because Elle was excited to do them but then we made a smart decision and let the kids ride the train and we all did the hayride together. Walker was loving it all, although he got a little upset right when the train was pulling out because he realized I wasn't going with him but he got over it and was very happy when he pulled back into the station. Elle liked it but said it was very bumpy. Which she is right because I remember that when I rode it with her when I was very pregnant with Walker!

Getting ready for the train ride!
Uh oh. Not happy as they were pulling out.

The train ride is pretty long and covers a large area so Kenny and I goofed off a little bit while they were off on their ride. We have laughed and laughed at these pictures below because we stuck our faces in these things and took pictures of each other but later on when I walked back by this thing with Elle I realized that it wasn't a place to stick your face for pictures but a bean bag toss game. We have just cracked up so many times. We are so old and silly!
As you can see now there are bean bags allllll around the dang thing!
Yep.  I got a picture too.
We pretended we were on a child free date at the pumpkin patch for 30 seconds.
Getting ready to ride the hay ride that goes all over the farm.

Another family picture where Walker refuses to look at the person taking the picture.

Girls.
Boys.

We sat right behind the tractor and Walker loved it.

After the hayride we had a snack under their heavy duty fans to cool off.
Mississippi trips to the pumpkin patch are hot!

Annual pictures in front of the measuring stick.

This year with Elle being older she wanted to do the corn maze. We had never done it in the past and it turned out to be really fun! We had to look for 10 different number tags and it turned out to be somewhat hard. We went all over the entire maze and the kids liked the adventure of it all!
Family picture before we set off into the maze!

Map of the corn maze.
Walking through the maZe!
Found one of the tags! We had to write them down on the tag as we found them.
Having some fun in the corn maze.

Elle was excited to find this corn but then she realized it had
ants on it which is why she is making this face.
Elle loved doing these barrel roll things.
Playing on all the old tractors they have there.

We went out for mexican for lunch after we got back to town and Kenny took this picture because my pet peeve is when they set my tacos down in the rice and beans and then they get soggy and then this happens. I call it taco blowout and it stinks.

After lunch we considered going to see a movie but Elle just wanted to go home and play so we did. And I let the kids help me make a big pot of chili and we all ate chili and watched Casper before we went to bed. It was a fun fall night to end our fun fall day!
