NANEE AND ELLE'S MEMPHIS WEEKEND

This past weekend I met Nanee in Tupelo so Elle could spend the weekend with her.  She was a little nervous about going because she is in a phase where she doesn't really like to be away from Kenny and I.  But Annie says the second she was in her car she quickly got over it. I am pretty sure it was because she knew how much fun she was going to have with Nanee! And they did have so much fun! Nanee spoiled Elle absolutely rotten and she cried when we picked her up in Tupelo on Sunday when she had to leave. So the weekend was a total success.

Kenny and I enjoyed our weekend with Walker so much!  It is amazing how much easier things are when you go from two kids to one kids. He was so easy going without having to compete with Elle for attention and Kenny and I got out for some grown up time too.
While we waited for Nanee to get into Tupelo we got ice cream cones
and finished watching our movie in the car.

After I got back into Starkville I came home and we hung out for a while. Then we headed over to our friends Robby and Foley's house to cook hamburgs and hotdogs. It was a low key night and Walker had the best time playing with Grace and Ann Carlton. We joke that sweet Grace and Walker are betrothed because we were walking out of the hospital with Walker when they were walking in to have Grace so they are only two days apart in age. We stayed until 10 and Walker was a complete trooper and immediately passed out the second we put him in his carseat.  The best part was he slept in the next morning until 8:30!
Enjoying their yummy meal together!

He was completely out!
He even stayed asleep while we changed him into his pajamas. It was so cute and pitiful.
Elle ready for bed at Nanee's house Friday night after a matinee showing
of the new Beauty and the Beast movie.

Saturday was a busy busy day for Elle! They were up bright and early and headed to the children's museum first. Elle loves the Children's Museum of Memphis so much and from the pictures we were getting that day she was having a big old time.
Really getting in there with that tooth brush.
Elle got a balloon animal made of her favorite stuffed animal of the moment "Boom Boom."
Annie's friend Caroline went with them and Elle really took to her.
Doing some fishing!

Next up they went bowling! This was Elle's first time to bowl and she loved it.
Walker was the sweetest little lazy baby with us.  It was raining and
we just watched movies and hung out.

That afternoon we got a babysitter and met up with some friends. The weather had been beautiful all week and Kenny and I were dying to eat crawfish so we went to Little Dooeys with big plans to spend the afternoon there.  The weather wasn't ideal and then they ran out of crawfish the second we got there.  So the other place that was serving crawfish was a restaurant we never ever go to called Rosey Baby's. It also happens to be the restaurant that we went to for our very first date.  So when we  got there we had to take a picture in the spot we sat for our first date!  We enjoyed a long easy going afternoon with friends eating crawfish and then went to the Guest Room for one more drink and some dessert and then headed home for an early-ish bedtime.
Sitting where we sat 15 years ago on our first date.

Sunday morning we got up and got ready for early service and then drove over to Old Waverly because we had reservations for a Jazz Brunch. It was an amazing brunch and we had a great time with Walker at the club before we drove to Tupelo to pick up Elle. A great end to a relaxing and fun weekend for everyone.
Daddy and Walker hanging out before our table was ready.
We told Walker to "say cheese" and this is what he did.
Enjoying his breakfast and shooting me and my camera the side eye.
Never far from our choo choo.
Love my sweet boy.
All the one on one attention wore him out.  First nap in weeks!
We were so happy to have her home after her fun weekend.

SPRING BREAK 2017-PART V

It is finally the last Spring Break post! Hooray! We threw around the idea of renting our beach house another night and staying Friday night because the weather was supposed to be so much warmer. But ultimately we decided to go ahead and pack up the car in the morning, spend the day at the beach and then drive over to Fairhope for the night to break up the drive. We also knew that Fairlope was having their art festival and thought it would be fun to take to the kids to that. And maybe Kenny and I could squeeze in a date night after our week with the kids!

So that Thursday night once we got the kids to bed I did lots of packing and then finished up Friday morning while Kenny went and picked up breakfast and coffee.  I packed us a cooler with sandwiches and lots of snacks and drinks and then we completely loaded the car and "checked out" of the house before going to park nearby and make our way to the beach. It was a beautiful day and the water was so blue.  It was still a little chilly when we first got down there but it quickly warmed up and we all ended up in our bathing suits soaking in the sun! Maybe a little too much sun! Eek!
Elle snapped this picture of us on the beach!
Enjoying the warmer day on the beach!
Putting our toes in the water.
After a long day of sun, sand and water this one was totally exhausted and was practically falling asleep standing up while we washed the sand off of him.

After  fun day we washed a little bit of the sand off and changed into dry clothes and drove over to Seaside to pick up some hamburgers from Pickles to eat in the car and then drove to Fairhope and got in early evening.  Elle was so tired but that day happened to be St. Patricks day and Elle had big plans of her and Kenny setting a trap to catch a leprechaun.  Luckily Pop Pop had all the right supplies for exactly the kind of trap Elle was envisioning and they got it together in no time! After a few practice runs Elle was off to bed! When she woke up the trap had been set off but the tiny leprechaun had escaped! But somehow in the struggle had dropped a ton of chocolate coins behind! Elle was thrilled that she found his coins and knew those leprechauns are extremely hard to catch so wasn't disappointed that he got away!
Testing out their leprechaun!

On Saturday, we loaded the kids up and went downtown in Fairhope to walk around the Arts Festival and to see Gramma at the Cats Meow while she was working.  It was pretty hot but we got some yummy fair food before we came home to let the kids wind down and play. Then that afternoon Kenny and I got out for an early date night. We went and had sushi at our favorite restaurant at Master Joe's and then dessert at a little cafe down the street. It was the perfect way to end our week of time spent together as a family!
Walker getting some Gramma love at the store.
Pop Pop met up with us for little while and walked around with us.  Elle bought a
leprechaun book at the bookstore and they were reading it together here!
Enjoying lunch in the shade.
Humongous corn dogs for the win!

Kisses for Daddy.
And hugs for Daddy!

Date night to end the trip! This picture is black and white
because or faces were burned and bright red!

SPRING BREAK 2017-PART IV

It was our last full day at the beach and it was finally starting to warm up.  The breeze died down which helped a lot too. Thursday morning we went to Great Southern for breakfast and to kill some time and let the sun do its job! We always enjoy Great Southern for breakfast, the beignets and grits and vanilla pancakes are a hit with the kids!

After breakfast we went home and packed some lunches and headed down to the beach for a little while. It was a beautiful day.  It was still pretty chilly.  I was downright freezing at times but the kids are brave and got in the water some and alternated between their swimsuits and their sweatshirts. We still had lots of fun and once the kids got cold enough and tired enough we headed back to the house for another long hot bath!
The girls at breakfast!

Water was so pretty and Elle was so happy to finally have a beach morning!
Always a little timid at first and then he gets so into it. He loved the beach so much!
Cant wait for summer!

Daddy helping him get aquainted.

Taking a break and warming up.
Enjoying our packed lunch on the beach.

After baths and showers for everyone we went back to Seaside to enjoy one last dinner at one of our favorite places, Bud and Alleys Pizza Bar. We love the food there and we love the patio overlooking the water. We don't always risk going out to dinner with the kids but this evening was relaxed and a great last evening together as a family.
Hanging with Daddy waiting on his high chair!

Entertaining ourselves with some pipe cleaners while we waited for the food.
Walker is cracking me up in this picture!
My favorite pizza! The Clam Pie and a yummy cocktail.
Walker loves the Parmesan!

After dinner we absolutely weren't going to get out of there without getting ice cream one more time!
Two sweet babies that are excited about their ice cream!

Daddy and Elle enjoying their cones.

These two love and adore each other.
One last picture in front of the big ice cream cone.
