ELLE GETS HER EARS PIERCED

We originally planned to allow Elle to get her ears pierced in January for her 8th birthday. Despite knowing this she still begged all the time to get them done earlier. We did buy a package at our school's silent auction that included earrings and the piercing from a reputable jeweler. So we gifted her that along with a pair of earrings on Christmas Day. She was so excited and of course asked if she could get them pierced the next day. And with her birthday only a few weeks away we agreed. We weren't sure if the jewelry store would be open but they were and so we headed over right when they opened up. She was very nervous but also very determined. I was pretty nervous myself.

When we got there she was able to pick out which earrings she wanted and she chose these dark blueish greenish ones. Almost like a teal color. Then it was all very quick. The nice lady who did it is a pro and knew to keep things moving so she couldn't get to scared. Kenny grabbed hold of her hand and she did the first ear before we could even blink. She did so good and didn't even cry. And then she moved on to the second one and it was done! She looked like she wanted to cry for a second but didn't and then they handed her a mirror to admire her new earrings and she was so excited and happy. We were all happy for her.

Since then the earrings have been great. She has not had any issues. We've been cleaning them and turning them and no redness and the soreness has gotten better. So hopefully she is on her way to being able to take out her original pair and start using them to accessorize.

Picking out her earrings.

So excited and nervous.
Here we go! First ear!
The whole gang was here!

Love that sweet smile!
