MARCH WEEKEND RECAP

Well we are caught up into enough of March that I can recap LAST weekend!   Friday night Kenny got home from work and we had a little date night in after the kids were in bed.  We love doing this.  I made a meat and cheese tray and we opened a good bottle of wine and watched a movie.  We watched The Martian with Matt Damon and both loved it!

On Saturday morning I made breakfast and then Kenny went up to the golf course for a little while and me and the kids hung out at home and played. Elle pulled play dough which I kind of despise but it kept her entertained for a long time on this morning so it was worth it.

Around lunch we had Walker's babysitter Zo come so he could go down for a nap and we took Elle to lunch at City Bagel and then to the last men's basketball game of the season.
Walker has discovered that we store the crowns under the guest room bed downstairs and he is constantly crawling under there to play with them.  We longer keep them there but it cracks me up anytime I see his little feet hanging out from underneath the bed.
Walker's feet and Elle peaking around the corner.  Both in their pajamas.
These Saturday mornings can be crazy but lots of fun!
Walker enjoyed his family breakfast.
Elle heavily involved with the play dough.
Elle enjoying one of our favorite restaurants.  We get her a spinach cheddar bagel and then have them crumble bacon and cheddar cheese on it and toast it until its all melty.  She loves it.
Daddy daughter pic!
Elle loves making silly faces.
Mommy daughter!
Getting carried out the car by her Daddy after the game was over.

The game was lots of fun and we won!  When we got home we just relaxed and had an easy going dinner of a homemade barbecue pizza I made.

Sunday morning we went to church as a family and then out for some mexican food for lunch.  Lunch is actually a meal that we can go out to a restaurant for because Walker can last.  Dinner he is jus too cranky by afternoon evening and it is not worth it.  We do laugh though because you have to be so careful of where things are on the table because he reaches and grabs anything he can get his hands on.  So our table is usually very crowded and hectic.

Walker enjoying some quesadilla and rice.
Taking a picture to demonstrate how ridiculous our table is!

When we got home I enlisted Elle in helping me make a big pot of chili.  I was taking some of it to Kelly since she had her new baby girl about a week ago.  Elle was excited because she got to wear one of my aprons. She looked pretty cute!
My little chef stirring our chili makings.
I love cooking with Elle.  I look forward to when I have
more time to do it and she can do even more with me!

Around the time that we were making the chili I realized that the dishwasher was broken.  It was full of dirty dishes.  So we had to put them all in the sink to soak and then be washed and dried.  It was a big pain and we finally got the dishwasher repaired on Wednesday.  Thank goodness!
Kenny got to do this chore! He says it took him two hours!

HEY THERE MARCH PART TWO

Here we are for the second part of our photo dump.  Like I always say I am so grateful to have this blog that I have dedicated to recording the smallest and the biggest moments of our life.  In my old age I find that I am so sentimental when it comes to pictures and I adore my iPhone because it lets me take pictures of the silliest things or just the most mundane errands.  I no longer create these posts so anyone can read them but me and our closest family members.  If you are reading this and you don't fall into those categories that is just fine.  Just felt that I needed to explain why I feel the need to post these pictures about nothing!

I took Walker to the doctor for his 15 month check up.  He also had to get a couple shots so he could continue going to PDO.  I am a bad mom because I forgot to actually take a picture of his measurements but I know he weights 25lbs and is tall.  94% in height.  We don't really realize how tall he is because he isn't walking yet!
Waiting room selfie with Mommy to send to Daddy.
Snacks are how we got through the appointment.

We caught our first baseball game of the season.  It was a beautiful day and as always we went with low expectations as to how long we would be able to stay and surprisingly enough Walker was very content and our friends came so Elle had a friend there and we stayed for a while.  This is the first season that we have been able to buy chair backs so we will be making an effort to go to lots of games if the weather and game times allow!
I was trying to take a candid of Kenny and Walker and Elle stole the show on this one.
Kenny and Walker taking in the game.  Walker is obsessed with balls and is already very very left handed so who knows if he will play baseball or not but he seemed to enjoy watching the game.
Sweet boy!
Elle and he friend Addison at the game having so much fun.
I was trying to figure out an outfit to wear to accommodate
the cast and Elle snuck into this picture too.
Walker and Lena having one of their daily chats and sharing a snack.
My sleepy boy.  I can never have enough pictures of him sleeping.
Walker hanging out with Kenny working.  Kenny was letting Walker touch
his computer so he was happy for the moment.
Elle and her classmates celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday
and her teacher shared this picture with the parents.
There was a Thursday morning where it was pouring rain so Walker and I stayed in our pajamas all day and just hung out, did house work and played all day and it was a great day.
He thought he was so clever because he was standing on
the dishwasher door.  Look at his mischievous smile.

HEY THERE MARCH PART ONE

It is starting to feel like Spring outside and that makes me an excited girl.  We really did not have a winter at all. I am sure I will be wishing we would of had cooler days in a few months but for now I am excited to be outside a little more and for the kids to not have to bundle up. Nothing big has happening with our family, just the normal business of life. But the normal business of life is pretty crazy.  After three weeks in the boot I went back to the doctor and my foot had not healed at all.  So my doctor and I discussed the best way to get well fast and decided casting the foot was the best bet.  So I have been in a cast for two weeks and have one more week to go. There are so many miserable things about it but the worst part being that I can only wear leggings which limits my wardrobe completely due to the amount of long tops I have that cover my behind.  I want to wear jeans so bad it hurts!

I also traveled home for a weekend to be with my mom after she had a surgery.  Kenny kept the kids all weekend which he is fully capable of doing because he is their Daddy.  This was the first time he has had to get them ready and out the door for school and PDO though.  He did great!  He was very tired when I got home though.

Okay from here I guess I will do a quick photo dump!  I had so many pictures for my photo dump that I had to divide my early March photo dump post into two posts.  Oh well!

So here is my silly looking cast! I chose marroon because it was the most understated color.  Everything else was hot pink or hot orange.  I wanted white but they said it would get too dirty.  Everyone who has seen this cast says they have never seen one like that before.
It has been warm enough for Elle to not have to wear leggings or tights with her uniforms so that means the bloomers are back in rotation because I will make her wear bloomers until they don't make her size anymore.  And I still can't get enough of how cute they are on her!
A picture of Kenny and the kids snuggling on the couch while I was out of town
with my mom. I was missing them.
Friday morning we FaceTimed to be sure that Kenny's hair techniques were up to snuff.  He did a great job.  Although I do believe Elle said at some point the teachers had to redo her hair at school.  But from what I could tell it looked great.  I wonder if he just didn't wrap the ponytail holder enough?
We went out one night to celebrate my friend Kelly and throw her a little sprinkle for her third baby which she has now had and was a little girl named Kate!

One Saturday morning I took Elle to get a princess manicure and pedicure so she could use one of her gift cards she got from friends at her birthday party.  It was fun and we enjoyed our girl time! After the mani pedi we went to a MSU baseball game as a family so we were sporting our maroon!
Look at pose! She just strikes that on her own!
Keeping her fingers still while she gets her toes worked on.
She picked a shimmery purple for her fingernails and a bright pink for her toes.
One morning I put Walker in the shower with me so I could bathe him and me at the same time.  He liked it okay but I think he will like it better ones he starts walking.  Our shower floor was hurting his knees I think.
Cuddling with Daddy before bed.

Tune in tomorrow for Hey There March Part Two!!

A POST ALL ABOUT MY WALKER MAN!

I know a lot of my posts have been Elle heavy lately so I wanted to talk about Walker a little bit and what he has going on these days! Some of these pictures may be repeats but oh well! Walker is growing and changing every day and keeps us very busy and always smiling.  He is such a funny little boy with a lot of personality quirks and also starting to find out he has a temper too! I am just going to ramble on all about him so I can remember this baby.  Typical mom gushing but I know now with the kids getting older, this is the type of stuff that I will want to read!

Some of the things he just loves are balls and balloons and anything with wheels.  He has these trucks that play the same song and we call that his jam because every time he presses the button he starts dancing and wants you to dance too! He will throw a ball and chase a ball for a large amount of time. And we think he will be left handed because he seems to always throw with his left hand.  He loves Lena and likes to crawl all over her and talk to her and love on her.  Lena seems to be indifferent about it but definitely does not seem to mind too much.  He loves baths and lately likes to crawl into our shower that does not have a door and play in the leftover water or my loofahs.  So we have had to put a gate up because he gets soaking wet and that can be annoying at times.  He can crawl up the stairs and we are having to be careful about that and will make a mad dash for any open bathroom door to splash in the potty.  He also recently found a huge bag of dog bones and likes to sneak in there and start giving them to Lena one by one.  Lena loves that of course! He also just loves balloons.  We can't go to the grocery store without getting a balloon!

He still loves to eat but seems to have gotten a little pickier.  And when he is done he knows that throwing his food and swishing his hands over his tray so the food goes everywhere is the quickest way to be taken out of his high chair.

He is starting to get more words in his vocabulary.  Some of the words he says are: uh oh (his favorite) the ball (his other favorite) "ooon" for balloon.  Dada and Mama.  Bye bye and dog.

He is taking after his sister in that he looks like he will be a late walker.  He is pulling up, cruising and stands all the time but just doesn't seem to interested in moving on to the next phase of actually walking.  I am convinced my babies are a little lazy and he crawls really really fast so I could see why he would want to stick with that.  My mom and I were laughing earlier because he likes to be held sooooooo much more than Elle ever did.  So he will crawl over to you super fast and put his arms up because he wants you to pick him up.  It is the sweetest thing ever but he gets upset if you don't pick him up.  He is also a big hair puller if he is upset with me.  Stinker!

Alright now for some pictures! I am noticing that he has the same pajamas on in a lot of these.  I promise we do change his clothes!
 My sweet boys!
This was in the car before PDO and Walker's little cheeks were so chap because he had a cold and it was freezing outside.  I feel bad for liking his rosy cheeks!
Sweet boy playing with his car.
Feeling under the weather one day.  Wanted some snuggles.  While he likes being held a whole lot he doesn't usually let you sit with him.  He wants to be up and walking around with you.
Loving his sister's birthday "oooons"
He loves taking medicine.  Thank goodness! The tylenol is his favorite!
Silly boy was throwing his ball around the dryer.  Whatever keeps him entertained!
Look how happy that little boy is with his balloon!
I took this picture one afternoon when we were going to get Elle from school! It made me laugh because typical little brother in carpool.  Bed head from just waking up from his nap, snack cup, sippy cup and his cell phone!
Cheesing with my boy!
